(August 4, 2011 - Newtown, CT USA) Manufacturing ultrasonic equipment since 1969, Sonics & Materials, Inc. now showcases a variety of leading ultrasonic technologies in videos on their YouTube channel.

Videos of ultrasonic liquid processing, ultrasonic plastics welding and ultrasonic metal welding are available for viewing on YouTube at www.youtube.com/SonicsMaterials.

Liquid processing videos include a high volume probe designed for dispersion and homogenizing applications with continuous flow and high throughput; dispersion of nanoparticles with a high intensity ultrasonic liquid processor; a cup horn with floating microtube holder and test tube showing cavitation; an atomizer using ultrasonic vibrational energy to generate a low-velocity spray with pressureless atomization; and an overview of ultrasonic liquid processing equipment and accessories.

Ultrasonic plastics welding videos feature bench-top ultrasonic welders, spin welders and vibration welders; FEA analysis of ultrasonic horns; hand held ultrasonic welding; and a re-creation of the original discovery of the ultrasonic method of welding thermoplastic parts,  for which Sonics’ founder & CEO, Robert Soloff, was awarded the patent in 1965.

Ultrasonic metal welding and wire processing videos include ultrasonic cable termination using a 15 kHz spot metal welder; sequence wire splicing of 3 & 4 #10AWG (5 mm2) wires via  touch screen power supply and wire splicer; and smaller wire termination with a 20 kHz spot metal welder.
